Sardine cooked in coconut masala with Szechuan pepper flavor *Pedve/Tarle teppla dodhak This is a very delicious flavored Sardine in dry coconut sukha with Szechuan pepper flavor. Pedve/Tarle Dhodak is a dry preparation where the fish is cooked in spice paste, covered with the masala and served with steamed rice. The fish is kept on a simmered flame, there is no turning over of the fish or any kind of mixing done while cooking the sardine. The aroma that the tephal/teppal give to the dish is unique and absolutely fantastic. The whole flavour of the dish is from the Teppal (Sichuan Pepper), the coconut ground in garlic and the tamerind added for the sour taste. You can also add Sol ( dried Kokum).
