Content Freshness: Content freshness has become the 6th most significant factor in the algorithm, accounting for 6% of it. Recent data shows that updating website pages at least once a year improves their SERP positions. Quarterly or monthly updates could yield even better results. 2. Trustworthiness: Trustworthiness, which accounts for 5% of the algorithm, emerged as a factor in Q1. This follows Google's patent filing for AI to verify content accuracy. To optimize for this, citing academic sources and avoiding unproven claims is recommended, particularly for financial and health topics. 3. Backlinks: Backlinks' value decreased slightly from 15% to 14%, remaining the third most important factor. While their influence has diminished, they still hold significance. Quality content should remain the focus as it attracts organic backlinks. 4. User Engagement: User engagement's value decreased from 12% to 11%, yet it's the fifth most crucial factor. Meeting searcher intent remains key. User engagement combines bounce rate, time on page, and pages per session. 5. Niche Expertise: Niche expertise remains at 14%, emphasizing the importance of Hub and Spoke SEO. This strategy involves creating high-level pages targeting major keywords that link to secondary pages targeting related keywords. 6. Consistent Publication of Engaging Content: This remains the top factor, rewarding sites with high-quality content produced consistently. More content increases chances of attracting backlinks and higher rankings. 7. Keywords in Meta Titles: This factor remains at 15%, with a more lenient definition of word differences since Q1 2023. It's a prerequisite for ranking. 8. Internal Links: Internal links remained at 3%, emphasizing the connection between hub keywords and ranking. Internal links are still relevant for site structure. 9. Eliminated Factors: Keywords in Header Tags and Keywords in URL are no longer factors. They belong to the 1% group of less significant factors. 10. Mobile-Friendly / Mobile-First Website: Mobile-friendly design is crucial, as Google prioritizes mobile user experience. Sites should be optimized for mobile navigation and design. 11. Page Speed: Page speed is vital for user experience and ranking. Faster-loading pages are favored by Google. 12. Site Security / SSL Certificate: SSL certificates are important for site security and ranking. Google flags sites without SSL certificates as unsafe. 13. Schema Markup / Structured Data: Schema markup enhances search results by providing visual snippets. Google favors pages with schema markup for their usefulness to users. 14. Keywords in Meta Description Tags + 22 Other Factors: Various other factors contribute to ranking, such as keywords in meta description tags, header tags, and offsite mentions. These factors vary in importance and should be considered strategically. #seo #googlealgorithm #seohacks
