Aerials of London anti-racism protest

(7 Jun 2020) Hundreds of protesters surrounded the entrance to the US Embassy in London on Sunday as a part of anti-racist demonstrations, in solidarity with similar events taking place following the death of George Floyd in Minnesota last week. Saturday's action comes after thousands protested on Saturday outside Westminster, with some clashes with police, despite largely peaceful demonstrations. Sparked by the death of George Floyd in the US, events have been held in cities around the UK despite officials advising against mass gatherings. The protests around the world since Floyd's death have called on governments to address racism within their own countries.
