Hear how Mauricio Pochettino took Spurs to a Champions League final but two years on, after a disastrous spell under Jose Mourinho, the club appear unable to appoint a new manager. What went wrong under Pochettino and why did two time Champions League winner Jose Mourinho fail so dramatically? More importantly, why can’t they hire a new manager? With Julian Nagelsmann, Hansi Flick, Brendan Rodgers, Erik Ten Hag, Antonio Conte, Mauricio Pochettino, Paulo Fonseca, Gennaro Gattuso and now Nuno Espirito Santo considered, how have Spurs allowed their search for a new manager to play out so publicly? With Harry Kane already subject to a £100m bid from Man City and pre pre-season set to start in just 12 days, Spurs appear to be in crisis! @brandonayong58233 years ago No one is talking about how jose got sacked the day of the ESL announcement. Levy clearly saw that he would get billions every season and did not need mourinho anymore which is why he couldn't care less to give him his chance to play that final.
This is so disgusting from a human perspective
Mourinho recently called him " Dishonest" and a " Misleading liar" on an interview with GQ
Conte implied the same thing without actually saying those words by saying that levy told him a project and when he took interest it was far from what was promised to him

@SPQSpartacus3 years ago Mistake 1: not giving Poch enough money early enough. Mistake 2: panic-sacking Poch without a workable plan
Mistake 3: not investing in defence
Mistake 4: Attempting too great a change in style with Jose
Mistake 5: sacking Jose too Late or too early, Definitely at the wrong time
Mistake 6: Super League joke Club reputation fail
I expect many years of meandering, but we are used to that. Hope all the best for Poch and Kane, wherever they are.

@Mark-uh3un3 years ago Firing a proven winner like Mourinho a few days before a cup final, a man who only ever lost one final and has more trophies than spurs, was peak stupidity and arrogance 18
  • @
@nareik13633 years ago Simple answer, the board prioritised a flashy new stadium and their own financial gain over investing in the squad for 18 whole months, leaving it to go stale and leading to Poch’s underserved sacking. 15

@Josh-wh9ie3 years ago One word from a spurs fan: levy. People forget we were ahead of Liverpool in progression for a while then he failed to invest and they got Alison etc 133

@sufiyan.95353 years ago Mourinho was right when he criticized Dele Alli, about Spurs defence committing same mistakes that he warned them about. He didn't do enough in my eyes with all the signings he got but the Spurs players and management are a bunch of bottlers anyway ... 71

@miz51383 years ago You don’t even need to be a Spurs fan to understand the guy behind Tottenham’s troubles is none other than Daniel Levy. People don’t want to do business with Spurs bc of him, which eventually affects in the recruitment of players. ... 27

@mikalaiho3 years ago Not much explanation needed. It’s Levy’s fault. He sacked two great managers without any real reason, both after “daring to take them to Finals of European and national tournaments,” then crawled back to the first manager he’d sacked, which is dismal. He should sack himself! 🤨 ... 9

@piratehunterz9473 years ago Daniel Levy is demanding a top club performance with a mid table investment. Sacking Pochettino was a outrageous mistake. That guy got rocks as ingredients and was able to bake a fine cake. 4

@timeisontheessence3 years ago I feel this video brushed off the main points regarding the decline of spurs. Poch near the end inherited a team of deadwoods that needed a rebuild. He wasnt backed and got sacked as levy believed the squad was good enough
Jose lifted that squad from 14th to 6th but even he lamented that the squad was not good enough and needed a rebuild
Still levy rejected that notion and is yet to realise that spurs cannot progress till they release overhyped players like dele and winks, and clears the deadwood

@jtmcgee3 years ago Players complained that Pochettino pushed too hard in training and then they get a manager in Mourinho who was less intense or Laissez-faire and then blamed that for short comings. IDK sounds weak. Almost every top athelete I've ever heard or talked to about training/preperation said they want to be pushed or push themselves very hard. Seems like some of the Hotspur players arent in the mental space to be winners. IDK I'm not there but complaining about hard practice (which is fine, some people do go overboard) then blaming failure on lack of intensity in practice seems like a cop-out and I dont blame managers for not wanting to work there, not just because the players but the front office seems like penny piching micromanagers. ... 6
  • @
@sufiyan.95353 years ago You didn't even mention why Mourinho was sacked before final. Levy wanted to save some money because he would have to pay more if Mourinho had won the trophy and then got sacked. Your narrative is very Anti Mourinho I feel. ... 32

@raphaelrau17283 years ago The club has become so deluded that it can’t see the wood from the trees. No money to invest in players, hands on chairman who even has an office at the training ground and thus is too hands on and a squad in transition. Plus sacking the manager too much! Not a good look! Nice stadium but haven’t won a decent trophy in 30 years and the title in 60! ... 11

@zogo82393 years ago Honestly if anything, leicester should replace tottenham in the big 6 cause leicester won more trophies than spurs in the past 20 years even winning a premier league which spurs cant even do 7

@ethanfury15753 years ago As a united fan ik how long transfers go on for us and ik that you guys still ain’t got a manager but I’m sure you will it’s just that finding a manager these days ain’t too easy really because the wage demands and the managers Spurs has talked to don’t want to work with promising young talents which you can understand why they turned down that manager but a club like Spurs should already have a manager I geus it’s the owners messing it up ... 1

@James-qj8nb3 years ago It's obvious Levy and ENIC is the stumbling block.
It would have been useful to know what the outcome if Eddie Howe had been in negotiations 10 days ago for the job.
If that failed, then Ryan Mason would have been the only alternative as the only one who would meet Levy's criteria.

@DiggerjohnKansas3 years ago As a Brighton supporter, it cheeses me when a loss to us is considered a low point. We have been in the EPL for 5 years in a row and each season has been an improvement. Ask Man U. how much of a pushover the Seagulls are. 1
  • @
@ivaneurope3 years ago Well, Luis Enrique could be available and here's why - Spain's Euro 2020 has been underwhelming with draws to Sweden (0-0) and Poland (1-1) and beating up a dead horse in Slovakia (5-0). His decision to drop Sergio Ramos from the squad was controversial as well. And if Spain loses to Croatia in the Round of 16 (if not, they'd be most likely trounced by France should they eliminate Switzerland) the RFEF could very well pull the plug on him and Daniel Levy, who has no other options remaining, could go after the former Barcelona manager. Didier Deschamps could also be a free agent should he leaves the French national team, but I don't think he'll be interested in the Spurs job. ...

@alexbenstead59223 years ago Is levy having a mental breakdown of some sort. He’s realised he was played by Mourinho at the Old Inter vs Old Spurs pre season friendly last year into getting rid of Poch. He now doesnt know how to fix it. The real issue why spurs has gone wrong is levy is a pathological control freak who can’t let go of control even though he wants to. He also has a severe blame culture within the club from players to management team where Levy will never admit responsibility for screw ups. Can’t say how I know this. ...

@hugoumero97233 years ago Well the reason Why tottenham went downhill and manager search Is take too hard to find An manager
    1. Pochettino want Jackson Martínez to be backup From Kane Back In winter Transfer window In 2016 but Levy refused because He thought Martínez Is probaly An injury prone and not good enough backup From Kane
    2. Pochettino want some Wishlist players he wants In summer 2017 but levy refused because he refused give pochettino money
    3. Pochettino wants to Leave and almost Became Juventus manager In summer 2019 but levy didnt want to have An deal With Juventus and forced pochettino to Stay
    4. Pochettino want Levy to renew Erisken contract but Levy refused and didnt want to have deal With 500k contract só he was sacked
Maybe Levy should give Pochettino the players he wants but nope he decide to not give Him money and now They are In worst situation In Hiring An manager that fiorentina,Lille,Everton and crystal palace
