Medu Vada is a popular healthy authentic South Indian breakfast recipe with coconut chutney and sambar.
Ingredients:
2 Cups Urad Dal, soaked for few hours
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
sliced onions
curry leaves
ginger
coconut
Method:
- Grind the urad dal to a fine batter.
- Add sliced onions, ginger, coconut,curry leaves and salt mix well
- Heat the oil for deep frying.
- Once it is hot, dip your fingers in little water and pick the batter in your hand. Shape it round and put your thumb in the center and make a hole. Drop the batter in the oil in round shape and deep fry till light brown and crisp.
- Serve the pipping hot Medu Vada with coconut chutney.
