This video explains the Differentiator circuit structure, working and waveform Simulation. The output of the differentiator circuit is nearly directly proportional to the rate of change of the input. The differentiator can be of two types based on the components used in the circuit A passive differentiator circuit and an active differentiator circuit. A passive differentiator circuit uses only passive components like resistors and capacitors while an active differentiator contains active components like operational amplifier (opamp). A differentiator circuit. The differentiator can produce the square wave at the output if a triangular wave is applied at the input. Ideally a differentiator can reverse the effects of an integrator on a waveform. A passive differentiator circuit can we designed by using a simple first order high pass filter, with the cutoff frequency set to be far above the highest frequency in the signal. In case of active differentiator, the circuit consists of an operational amplifier, a resistor and a capacitor. In the differentiator circuit the capacitor is used at the input side and resistor R provides the negative feedback.
