Bribing police? How are you learning Spanish? Do you feel safe there? Best meals? ~ I get a lot of questions about living in Mexico, like why I choose Mexico City, safety, food, etc, so I decided to make a video about it. I know I didn't touch everything, so please feel free to leave a comment and I'll try to answer as many as I can. :) I really miss making more ramble type videos on my main channel - I usually save them for my Patreon - so please let me know if you'd like to see more personal/vlog/story-time type videos! Timestamps Intro/background info (Why leave the US? Why Mexico City?): 0:00 - 4:30 Language barrier & being away from family/friends: 4:37 - 9:38 Food you've never tried before that you liked: 9:39 - 10:16 How friendly is Mexican community with foreigners?: 10:17 - 12:20 Why did you do before full time content creation? @veronicaivanovaمنذ 3 سنوات I absolutely loved this video! It's great to hear about your journey! As someone who speaks Bulgarian, English and Spanish and is learning Italian, id="hidden11" class="buttons"> I completely agree that you need to practise the language at least a few times a week to progress quickly. Due to working full time, I have my Italian class only once a week and I think the main reason my understanding of the language isn't bad is because of my Spanish knowledge, once a week is simply not enough. Also you need to practise as much as possible. I used to speak Spanish better than English but since moving to England, my Spanish command mainly depends on reading Spanish books, listening to Spanish music and watching Spanish movies/series. You're lucky you're learning Spanish in Mexico as they don't speak as fast as Spanish people do ....وسعت 15

@Ben0001منذ 3 سنوات ¡Hola Sarah! I asked the question about learning Spanish. Thanks for the tips! I also have a Spanish speaking partner. She's from Madrid, but we live together in England. It's very true what you say about speaking to your Spanish speaking partner. We do try our best but it's not always easy when she speaks fluent English so it's so much easier for us to just speak English. She often randomly asks me questions in Spanish and I do my best to answer. I do like watching Spanish TV shows and whenever we go to Madrid and stay there for a couple of weeks, I always feel my Spanish improve. I do know I need to be more confident because I'm shy even in English. Thanks for the YouTube channel recommendations too. I'll definitely check them out. Thank you for the wonderful, thoughtful answer ☺️ ....وسعت 3

@faroverthemistymountainsمنذ 3 سنوات hey that's me at thanks for answering my question! ❤ also i am officially changing my last name pronunciation because you made it sound a lot more fun
it's really interesting what you said about how you deal with missing your friends and family, i think it really is a personal thing and it can change depending on the person. I'm really introverted too and mostly talk to my friends online anyway, but in my case, because i still live with my parents and it's not very common for people to move away during college here, it would be weird. like, i'm getting married this year and moving out, but still want to live close to them. it's hard, my boyfriend goes through the same thing, even though we both would like to maybe live in another country.
and about the language barrier, it totally makes sense! Thanks for the tips too. I have really funny stories from when I went to Buenos Aires in 2019 involving wrong spelling and pronunciation
portuguese and spanish are similar languages when it comes to syntactic functions in grammar and construction of phrases, but there are a lot of different meanings for similar words, oh boy

@susi131منذ 3 سنوات I totally get the understanding vs speaking problem. I've been studying Spanish on and off for 15 years now and I can understand it fairly well. I'm id="hidden34" class="buttons"> watching tv shows in Spanish (with Spanish subtitles sometimes) and I can also understand my Spanish colleagues when they are talking to each other. But whenever I'm in Spain and I need to say something it feels like I can't even articulate one straight sentence.
I feel like it was so different with English. But maybe also because I was learning English in school so my teachers obviously forced me to actually speak from the beginning. I have been taking some Spanish classes as well over the years but most of the Spanish I know comes from using apps and just watching Spanish tv shows or listening to podcasts in Spanish.
Maybe it is finally time for me to move to Spain for a while so I am forced to speak Spanish.

@XXXTENTAClON227منذ 3 سنوات Thank you for this. It’s hard to understand Mexico as a European (besides Spain obviously lol). All you ever see is problems, especially cartels, so it’s always seen as scary in Europe (once again, unless your Spain lmao) but I was always convinced that it wasn’t like that, and I made sure to always look past the news. This helps me understand it even more, a country I’ve always been fascinated in, as it portrayed the border of England and Spain (Canada and the USA being English in the past) and I love seeing the differences and cultural inheritance. I’m fascinated by history for some reason. Your videos are amazing! ....وسعت 3
