Wheat in Namibia – Good harvest prospects

Good harvest prospects for this crop of irrigated wheat in northern Namibia. Pannar's spring type wheat package is widely adapted and a definite choice for the irrigation farmer. This package is a stalwart – even as far as the north of Namibia. The package of high-yield potential spring-type irrigating cultivars are divided into four growth period classes: quick, medium-early, medium and medium-late. The package consists of PAN 3644, PAN 3400, PAN 3541 and PAN 3497. PAN 3644 is a top performer in the early maturity growth class and a good choice for later planting dates. PAN 3400, with a medium to quick growing period and excellent yield potential, is ideal for medium to later plantings. PAN 3541 is a medium-growing season versatile cultivar that can be planted both early and late. PAN 3497, with its somewhat longer growing period, is more suitable for early plantings.
